Futurama was a series canceled far before its time, but thankfully its back and unlike the Simpsons seems to get better as it goes. I was thrilled when the new series of direct to DVD movies was announce. I believe that
Bender's Game to be the best of the three new releases. The story isn't that deep or politically nuanced as some of the older episodes, but it does manage to play a good deal of homage to class Dungeons and Dragons, Lord of the Rings, and even a touch of Star Wars. The animation is clean and well done as usual, and the dialog is classic Futurama. The I thought it was great and I look forward to the next round.
